Fosters allow us to rescue more dogs at risk of euthanasia. Our fosters are valued and are our personal hero’s.

We are in urgent need for fosters and will provide for the dogs needs if you will provide temporary love and a home. There is no cost to foster. We can supply food and essentials. We will also work with you to find the best foster fit for your home.

Please consider fostering for the Rescue Coop today.

  • Donate

The Rescue Coop is a registered 501c. We appreciate all donations, using funds to rescue dogs on death row, provide much needed vet care and ensure a quality and loving environment until adoption.

We cannot thank our donors enough for supporting our rescue!

  • Adoption Policy

A little more about our adoption policy:

We generally accept applications for each dog for a specific period of time.

Once all of the applications come in during that time, an adoption coordinator will reach out to those we feel best meet the needs of each individual pup based on the application questionnaire.

After talking with each, if the pup is in foster, the foster will review the approved applications and help determine the best fit for each dog based on their personal knowledge of them.

We MUST take into consideration the specific needs of each dog. Factors such as activity level, whether a dog would thrive with a resident dog, cat tolerance, if a dog has specific needs like a fenced yard or cannot be crated during the work day, etc. all are taken into account when choosing a home for each pup.

Even if you are not chosen for your fist choice, many times we would love for you to consider an alternate pup. Sometimes another pup would be a better fit based on lifestyle or preferences.

Because we undergo considerable costs transporting and because returns are VERY hard on dogs, we take these decisions seriously and hope you understand. Choosing the best home for each individual dog’s needs is our primary concern as a rescue organization. We thank you for your understanding and for considering us with helping you find your new family member!

  • Returns

While it breaks our heart when a dog needs to be returned to the rescue, we will always take a dog back if it is not a good fit.

That being said, we hope you will give your new pup time to adjust to their new environment. Rescuing a dog takes time and patience. It can take them up to 3 months to truly feel at home. They need time to learn the routine, learn how to read your signals and for you to read theirs including when they need to go outside.

Please be kind and patient with your new pup, they have been through a lot in their short life.

Should you need to return a dog, please contact us. Per our adoption contract, do not rehome dogs or bring them to another shelter. We will make every effort to send transport as soon as possible and take the dog back into our rescue.

  • Owner Surrenders/Strays

Our rescue mission is to rescue dogs in imminent danger of euthanasia or those from overcrowded and kill shelters.

Being a small rescue, generally we are too full to accept owner surrenders or strays. Occasionally we can make an exception. If you have an owner surrender or stray, please fill out the Inquire Form or email us at TheRescueCoop@gmail.com. Do not call the rescue. Please include as much information as possible about the dog and include pictures if available.
